IAS Conference Celebrating France-Hong Kong Scientific Cooperation in Honour of Professor G. Ciarlet's 80th Birthday

The Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) will celebrate the major role of City University of Hong Kong (CityU) in developing scientific cooperation between France and Hong Kong, in honour of the 80th Birthday of the renowned Mathematician Professor Philippe G Ciarlet, Senior Fellow of IAS and University Distinguished Professor at CityU, on a full-day IAS Conference on 12 November 2018 at CityU.

In the past 15 years, at the initiative of Prof Philippe G. Ciarlet and the support from Consulate General of France in Hong Kong & Macau, a series of high-profile lectures by members of the French Academy of Sciences have been organized at CityU.

In this November, six eminent speakers will join together on the CityU campus to present a series of lectures and disseminate the knowledge in their research areas among the scientific community on the occasion of IAS Conference. They include Nobel Laureates in Physics and Chemistry, Fields medalist, members of the French Academy of Sciences and Senior Fellows of IAS, list of speakers as below:

The conference will commence with the opening remarks to be delivered by Professor Way Kuo, President of CityU, Mr. Alexandre Giorgini, Consulate General of France in Hong Kong & Macau and Professor Philippe G Ciarlet, Senior Fellow of IAS.
