HKIAS Senior Fellow Professor Qi-Kun Xue receives the 2020 Fudan-Zhongzhi Science Award

Professor Qi-Kun Xue, HKIAS Senior Fellow, was honored with the 2020 Fudan-Zhongzhi Science Award. The prize recognizes the extraordinary contributions of Professor Xue on the experimental discovery of quantum anomalous Hall effect.

Professor Xue is currently the Vice-President for Research at Tsinghua University, China and the Director of the Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences. He is a fellow of The Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In addition to Professor Xue, Professor Sir Michael Berry of the University of Bristol, UK and Professor Charles Kane of the University of Pennsylvania, USA also are the recipients of the prize. The award ceremony will be held on 13 December 2020 in Shanghai.

Fudan University jointly founded the Fudan-Zhongzhi Science Award and Zhongzhi Enterprise Group in 2015 to recognize scientists who have made fundamental and groundbreaking achievements in physics, mathematics, and biomedicine. The award aims to promote global scientific research and provide an international platform for research communication, discussion, and sharing.
